I had the honour to create the designs for the Bronze medal Vanuatu Volleyball team in the 2022 Commonwealth games. 

When designing the print for the uniform I took the opportunity to explore a lot of the patterns and prints that are intrinsically Melanesian, you can see how the elements of traditional art practices like basket weaving transfer over to the prints. There were a couple of elements that I wanted to incorporate. The big bold line that sits towards the sideseam originally started out as the shape of the tusk, but due to garment dimensions, the shapes were elongated to create a dynamic line though it does still taper at the front, just like the tip of the tusk. On the side panels, the print brings an impression of the patterns we see when we weave our mats and baskets. The colours represent the country’s flag.
